Scripting Contest -- Take 5
ICPC is still interested in comparing results of a scripting contest and a traditional contest with as few variables as possible. We will try to host a scripting contest again on Friday night. While this contest is voluntary -- Please Please participate. So the night before the contest we will run a 3 hour scripting contest with a set of problems. We will only allow submissions in the supported scripting languages. Even if scripting is not your thing, this is a great opportunity to learn the environment and the submission system.
The goal of this scripting contest is to have real competitors compete in scripting solving real problems. We will then attempt to compare problem solving rates, times to solution, problems solved, etc. between the scripting contest and the real contest the next day. While these contests are not identical (3 hours vs. 5 hours, fun vs. serious, ...). But we have to start somewhere. Here is your chance to impact the future directions of ICPC.
The provided scripting languages will be: Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby.
